LIVERPOOL IN WAITING

Went to Liverpool today, to eat 'en plein air'.  The main shopping area is already decorated and waiting the the Royal Baby to arrive.

While at Zizzi's, an Italian Restaurant, I used my mini, mini sketch set to do, yes you guessed, a quick sketch (Thanks for your information Cathy Holtom  http://cathyholtomdustylane.blogspot.co.uk - check out her really interesting article on materials she uses for painting outdoors).  I now have mini mini set, mini set, and compact set and full monty set.

Here used my magic wondrous Elegant Writer Calligraphy pen, just a touch of water to the lines that I have drawn and the ink does the rest.  Notice the sexy hair band to keep the pages from blowing about.

Royal Baby decorations ready and waiting. The clothes have HRH on them.

Hey, you Brits, enjoy this amazing heatwave while it lasts and no whinging.

  2. Like your term eating en plein air, do you sketch whilst waiting for your meal to come or do you linger longer and sketch after?

    1. Well I'm with hubby so don't like to be rude. BUT I did do this little sketch waiting for dessert (Italian Ice cream).

  3. Very apt that you should be sitting in an Italian restaurant! Great sketch, hope the food was as good.

    1. Food was delicious and felt like abroad eating in the sun outside. There's a little park in the centre of Liverpool surrounded by restaurants and buzzing with people with this heatwave bringing everyone outdoors.

  4. It is so cool that the whole country is waiting for the baby--I was (am) a big Diana fan...so I am sure she smiles down from her perfect place in Heaven. I just so wish she were here too for such a wonderful event. Hard to believe she would be a Grandmom. Lovely sketch. I love those pens. They come in colors, you know..but that dark blue black one is the best. :)

    1. Didn't know they come in colours. I have to order them from the States we don't see them here. I think it is so sad Diana isn't here, she would have been a brilliant Grandmother and I am sure this new family to be will be thinking of her. She surely is smiling down from heaven.
