Oh, I do suffer from bad feet, no not smell, cheeky! The balls of my feet cripple me after an hours walking, as I have claw toes on both feet. When I first tried crocs I couldn't believe how comfy they were. Summer is heaven, as I do not care what I look like, comfortable crocs are my friends, and I wear them when I can get away with it. These have been painted for my 'something from each room in the house' series, and we are in the conservatory now. I have several pairs of crocs and have some for the garden. These are very splendid, having a (plastic) diamond stuck through one of the holes. You don't need to hold your nose when you look at these, they are anti smelly!!!
Hope my blogging friends are having a wonderful weekend, and that those in the UK are enjoying this freak heatwave. Best weather for 7 years!!!
Bonjour Polly,
ReplyDeleteAvec vous, les objets du quotidien deviennent des oeuvres d'art!
Merci Olivier, vous etes tres gentille.
DeleteWe couldn't wait for Summer to arrive in Whitstable so flew back out to our home on Fuerteventura (arrived here 2 hours ago). S*ds Law - look at the weather in England now!! Actually, the very hotEnglish weather during Wimbledon etc didn't get down as far as us on the Kent Coast - we had much cooler windier weather up till Saturday.
ReplyDeleteNot complaining though - just dozing in the sun by our pool and catching up on some sleep as we had to get up at 2am this morning.
Love the crocs .. your painting that is. I'm not a fan of crocs myself, I prefer flip flops
Gosh, sounds terrible for you down by the pool. Enjoy your hol and your change of pace. We live by the coast and had slightly cooler temperatures. We are not used to this fandabidosy weather (is there such a word). My friends laugh at me in my crocs as if I care! Flips flops crease in between my toes, but would wear them if I could. Have fun!
DeleteI'm a dedicated croc fan myself.....although I also have a pair of filled in (without the holes) for rainy days in the garden which my sister bought for me for xmas from a gardening store. They are the best things ever! Love the painting and particularly like the granulation for the inside soles.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie for popping over and thanks for the comments. I have winter ones too. I would be devastated if they stopped making them. Hope it's not too hot for you
DeleteThose are very posh crocs with a diamond stuck in them! I like the way you painted them though I've never worn any!
ReplyDeleteLike walking on air. Thank you for your visit
DeleteMuchos gracias!
ReplyDeleteNice little painting Polly, love the colours you have in the floor tiles. My Crocs got left outside too long during a hot summer and believe or not shrank. Enjoy your warm weather, bet my Aunties in the UK are loving it too
ReplyDeleteThanks Lorraine. Ta for the warning about the crocs too. We think it's too hot (mid 20's) but I'm loving the fact you can go out, don't need a coat or an umbrella just in case it rains. Hope your Aunts are enjoying the weather, and you are having a really nice winter!
DeleteLove the crocs! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cynthia and thanks for taking a look. Will pop over and see yours later.
DeleteGreat job on the crocks!!! I like the way you handled the tiles too. Enjoy the weather.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joan. Weather's wonderful, no brolley required!
DeleteBeautiful painting. The crocs look good, but the tiles steal the show for me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. Have a lovely week
DeleteDear Polly - those crocs look wonderful. I have pali sandals that I live in during the summer. They are so comfortable and a hose just cleans those things right up! Great idea for a painting my friend. May have to do a watercolor sketch of my pali' - see how you inspired me. Thanks to for taking the time to visit my blog - always glad to share with you. Have a great summer week.
ReplyDeleteOh do paint your shoes, I have never heard of them. I always enjoy visiting your blog although I don't always have time to comment. :)
DeleteHello Polly:) How I love your paintings. Just little things from life! Funny you call them crocs. We call them clogs. Originaly they are the famous dutch wooden shoes, but nowadays the same as you have. I've got them too and they are wonderful! Enjoy the nice weather. Hugs:)xx
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed looking for little things to paint just got upstairs to go. You have excellent taste if you have the same shoes as me. Hope you're having the lovely weather that we are. Enjoy summer xx
DeletePolly, you are off on another great painting path, things from every room in the house. You did a great job painting your Crocs, they look beautiful, I want a pair now.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Tom's shoes? Or Merrel's hiking or trainers? They are both very comfortable shoes.
Thanks Barbara, for your visit and comments. Never heard of Tom's shoes but I have tried Merrel's walking shoes and I ended up with some German one's which are ok. Will investigate the Tom's shoes matter forthwith! Thank you and have a lovely week x
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how you make these hardly painting worthy objects look so good! Oops, sorry, you diamond wearing crocks, didn't mean to offend you... Great job with this one! And, like Pat, I particularly love the tiles!
ReplyDeleteThanks Blaga. You don't know til you try what is painterly! Don't mock the crocs though! (wink wink). And thank you for looking at my blog today.
DeleteMagníficos crocs!!Dan ganas de ponérselos!!
ReplyDeleteFeliz semana.
Paloma, thank you. They are so comfortable! Thank you for looking at my blog today.
DeleteDid I miss this one on FB or is my memory playing tricks on me again? Well whatever this is great. Love the textures and colours. Always wondered if crocs were comfy.
ReplyDeleteIt has been on facebook, but you have so many 'friends' that I am not surprised you missed it. Too popular by far!!!! Anyway, thanks for the comments. And yes, for me anyway, crocs are bliss but not the most fashionable footwear!
