AMAZING I'VE DONE MORE FLOWERS!

Yes, folks, I've been at it again, more flowers!  Strictly Dancing with flowers again.  I cannot believe it, but I now have been taking photographs of flowers, thinking of dull winter days!  In tribute to Wimbledon, and to quote John McEnroe, 'You cannot be serious?'.  Yes I am!  Here are my two latest very different paintings of the petally, leafy things:-
Painted the background with gay abandon, then thought the flowers were  all to pot, so added ink.  I did NOT like this painting, but so many have on facebook and my teacher too, that I now think perhaps it wasn't too bad after all.  This Strictly Dancing with flowers was perhaps a stop start type of dance, a fandango of a dance.

Very freely painted Alliums.  Definitely not for framing, just painted for fun.  A bit of an irish jig I think.

    1. If I take them too seriously I don't enjoy the painting, so playing it is.

    1. Nice to try other things. I really do landscapes, but I haven't done any for ages because of trying other things. Bet I can't do them now!

  7. These are both lovely Polly.

Isn't it fun to learn what others think of our work. I know that if my hubby (bless) doesn't like one of my pictures its likely to be an exhibition prizewinner. If he really likes something its probably best to bin it (in terms of commercial sales that is) ... works every time!

I'm never truly happy with anything I do (but I guess we are all striving for that 'elusive perfection' with each painting) so go with your feedback here. More flowers !!!! LOL

    1. I have been amazed at peoples comments. Although people aren't going to write - what a load of rubbish - are they? Still, I am taking the positives and have been very flattered I can tell you. I think if I was pleased with my work all the time, I would be very bored indeed. I enjoy the struggle. Have a lovely weekend!

  13. Polly - I think both of these floral paintings are beautiful and I disagree I think the Allium would look wonderful matted and framed. This dancing with the flowers seems to have inspired you well.
