Very freely painted Alliums. Definitely not for framing, just painted for fun. A bit of an irish jig I think. |

AMAZING I'VE DONE MORE FLOWERS!
Yes, folks, I've been at it again, more flowers! Strictly Dancing with flowers again. I cannot believe it, but I now have been taking photographs of flowers, thinking of dull winter days! In tribute to Wimbledon, and to quote John McEnroe, 'You cannot be serious?'. Yes I am! Here are my two latest very different paintings of the petally, leafy things:-

Très joli et harmonieux.
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup, Lydie.
DeleteL'harmonie des couleurs est très jolies.
ReplyDeleteVous etes tres gentile, Christine
DeleteI think you need no longer be afraid of flowers!! There are some lovely things happening on both of these... carry on playing if this is what you do!!
ReplyDeleteIf I take them too seriously I don't enjoy the painting, so playing it is.
DeleteLovely flower paintings Polly, I am trying to do other subjects but I always come back to flowers time and time again
ReplyDeleteNice to try other things. I really do landscapes, but I haven't done any for ages because of trying other things. Bet I can't do them now!
Deleteyou've got lots of talent polly...these are both special ..i'll keep coming back to see what flowers you've been painting ..enjoy the tennis !
ReplyDeleteOh Jane, thank you for your encouragement. I don't think I will every be 'a flower painter' but I just want to enjoy them once in a while. Am enjoying Wimbledon.
Deleteyes, two really good florals!
ReplyDeleteThanks Celeste, for your kind words.
DeleteWOOOW, you should definitely do more, these flowers are beautiful !
ReplyDeleteJane thank you, think I will be trying more in the future.
DeleteThese are both lovely Polly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to learn what others think of our work. I know that if my hubby (bless) doesn't like one of my pictures its likely to be an exhibition prizewinner. If he really likes something its probably best to bin it (in terms of commercial sales that is) ... works every time!
I'm never truly happy with anything I do (but I guess we are all striving for that 'elusive perfection' with each painting) so go with your feedback here. More flowers !!!! LOL
I have been amazed at peoples comments. Although people aren't going to write - what a load of rubbish - are they? Still, I am taking the positives and have been very flattered I can tell you. I think if I was pleased with my work all the time, I would be very bored indeed. I enjoy the struggle. Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteBeaucoup de délicatesse... Superbe!
ReplyDeleteMerci Olivier.
Deletewhouah!! je savais que tu faisais de beaux bouquets, ce post le confirme
ReplyDeleteMerci pour les commontaires
DeleteI like the misty look to the second one, and LOVE the detail and color in the first one. Nice!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan T. I get bogged down when I try to paint them like they are in real life, rather have fun experimenting
Deletelike both of these, but the blue one just a wee bit more, can never paint too many flowers ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am getting to enjoy painting them more. The blue one was the most fun by far!
DeleteBeautiful flowers! I actually like the alliums a lot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Blaga. The alliums were great fun to paint
DeletePolly - I think both of these floral paintings are beautiful and I disagree I think the Allium would look wonderful matted and framed. This dancing with the flowers seems to have inspired you well.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying painting flowers more now, but I will never be a 'flower painter'. Thanks for commenting. Happy painting
DeleteOooo, these are both so beautiful Polly! I especially love the Alliums. The yellow is the perfect tough. Great colors in both.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, have a lovely week
