WATERCOLOURING MY CRAFTING

I have recently joined a craft group, called Southport Stitchers.  They meet once a month.  I am not really a crafter, hate sewing and anything domestic.  SO ... I decided that when I had put my heart and soul into attempting each craft, I would paint it in my beloved watercolours and put in a book, for future reference and to say, I can't believe I made that!!!

First week was beading.  A dragonfly.  Used W & N Iridescent Liquid on the shimmering wings.

The second session was dry felting with a needle (sharp - it had barbs on the end, ouch).  did a lot of frowning trying to make this look like felt.  In fact, still got the frown lines!!!

Now I look forward to the next session of watercolour inspiration and craft combined.

Sorry, I haven't been looking at your blogs as much lately, hopefully I will have more time soon.

Meanwhile, have a great week.

  1. I love everything crafty. I think that 's a great idea to create something and adapt it in your own way once again. Your dragon fly is real sweet, well both are...:)
    Happy weekend Polly!

  5. Good for you extending your creativeness… if you figure out a way to get more time with the holidays on the way… PLEASE share that secret. I love the dragonfly. The only felting I ever did involved knitted a fish with wool, then throwing it in the washing machine with hot water, and then into the dryer… magically felted tiny fish… easy peasy and no needles except knitting needles involved.

    1. Laughing out loud hearing about your perfectly formed felted fish. Oh and the secret of time - early gift off Santa, it gives him less to bring on Christmas Eve.

  9. Dear Polly - It certainly looks like you turned these crafts into works of art in more ways than one. Love the iridescent look on the butterfly. Hope you are feeling much better too. Have a lovely start to December.

  11. Hello Polly! These are wonderful! I don't like sewing either, however once in a while for some reason, I want to. But I don't. Ha ha!

I love your watercolors, especially the dragonfly. The colors are so light, airy and delicate. I am happy to read you are home from the hospital. I hope your friend is too!
