Not many words today, out of respect for the upcoming Armistace Day. Here is a painting of the poppies we are wearing if you don't do this where you are. We give donations to the British Legion (who make them) .
l00 years from the beginning of World War 1 this year.
My version of the poppy
Wouldn't it be lovely if there was peace in this sad old world.
Lovely painting, and lovely sentiment Polly.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Polly, your poppy is beautiful and I couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful painting, such a good subject at this time :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting of the poppy, Polly, and I could only hope that your words come true... that's why we should not forget...
ReplyDeleteI love it.
ReplyDeleteYes Polly that would be so great, but I am afraid it is wishful thinking . Love your poppy and the idea behind it . Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLovely aquarella Polly! I so agree with your wishes of peace and love but man being who he is just takes war as a game. Terribly sad to be in 2014 and still see those killings go on day after day. Here everyone walks around with his or her little red poppy. Hugs my dear, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know it is a false hope but wouldn't it be a wonderful world. Mankind is so cruel to itself. Have a lovely week and thank you for your comment xx
DeleteThank you all of you for your comments. A touching time for many people.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poppy - and yes, it would be so lovely to have peace, worldwide.
ReplyDeleteNo harm in hoping
DeleteBeautiful!!! We do wear poppies here as a sign of remembrance to those who served. Peace would be great to have. You would think that after all that has been lost in wars and fighting we would be able to see the need for it and achieve it.
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense to me. Why live your life in terror
DeleteDear Polly beautiful painting of the poppy. Yes my friend it would be so wonderful if there was peace in the world...I believe there will be someday. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWe must all live in hope. :)

DeleteDear Polly, lovely painting. I visited the museum of WWI exhibition in Melbourne. Hope one day, children will ask adults, "Did people make war?" Best wishes, Sadami
ReplyDeleteOh Sadami, wouldn't that be amazing. xx

ReplyDeleteHi Polly, what a delicate and tender watercolor this is. It's just so beautiful and the splashes seem to just finish it off perfectly. I agree...peace would be wonderful.
