Hi Mike and Barbara Roth, I hope you see this post. Yesterday I received my Elegant Writer Calligraphy pens from Amazon UK via Jeffersen USA, with no delivery charge! Have done these quick sketches in a small A6 sketchbook and I definitely love these pens already.
They are lovely to use, with thick and thin edges, each stroke of the pen releases lots of colour and the colours are soft blue with hints of pink, less harsh than the grey of the stabilo pens I use now. The pack had 2 fine, 1 med and 1 broad, so they will last me a while. £7.98 is a bargain. I will put them in my little sketch pack for when I travel near and far. I am ever so chuffed with them.
Thank you so much for bring them to my attention, and also for the offer of help to obtain them.
They look like great fun and ideal for traveling. Have a nice weekend !
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit, you have a lovely weekend too.
ReplyDeleteSehr schöne Arbeit Polly;-)
ReplyDeleteNew supplies are always exciting!!! Nice sketches.
ReplyDeleteIt 's true lovely when using simple means you get SO much! Brava, Polly!
ReplyDeleteThank you Janina, Joan and Rita. It's so exciting to try something new.
ReplyDeleteGreat little sketches, Polly. Thanks for the cute mention, glad to be able to help in some small way. i tried to leave a message a few days ago, but was unable to login. I then tried to leave a message on your f/b page under the sketches but there was not a bar into which to comment.
ReplyDeleteYou can take your new toy for a few outings, and I'll look forward to seeing your urban sketches with this pen in the near future. If you google, you can find a lot of professional artists are keen on this pen and you may enjoy seeing their sketches also.
Also great for just doodling during a long phone call.
Happy arting Polly.
Best regards, Mike.
It really is exciting to find something new. I am like a magpie, I collect anything arty to try, but this is one that I will use and not put in a drawer. I will certainly check out google, what about your sketches!!!
DeleteSorry you had trouble getting in touch, but glad you made it in the end. Thanks again :)
G'day Polly from 'down under'.
DeleteThanks for asking about my sketches. Was quite pleased with this afternoon's river-side sketch, including reflections and long grasses. It was just intended to be a tonal sketch using our elegant writer. Also attempted a portrait from a photograph...not ready yet for live portraits...too much expectation.
I hope you're enjoying your's, and it's also fun to go back in while an area is still wet to get some great shading.
Mike.
Showing off cos the weather's warm and you can paint outside! Portraits are my nemisis, avoid them like the plague. I am enjoying my pens and have a friend who has ordered some from Amazon. You have started a little ball rolling here. I like that you call them our pens, and will continue to think of them as such. will go back in when wet as you suggest. Thanks again.
