My New Year Arty Resolutions
1. Paint more often
2. Paint different subjects and media
3. Experiment more
4. Don't use ultramarine in every painting
5. Enjoy the battle, be brave and have fun throughout each battle

A lovely positive post Polly. I sent you a reply last night. Just checking to see if you got it. My resolution is as always "never to make any" as I always break them... lol. Maybe a bit defeatist but I'm quite self-motivated anyway and it's less pressure this way. Happy New Year and may 2013 bring lots of wonderful things your way. xx

Deletehaha love it - my new years resolution is just to keep on painting, walking and doing all the things I love and spending time with the people I love - and also to do something each day to make someone smile if at all possible, have a wonderful new year - my colour is indigo, use it all the time!!
ReplyDeleteMm indigo, had nearly forgotten it. Must dig it out. I have smiling days when I just smile at strangers in the street. It is quite rewarding. I do get the odd strange look. Happy New Year

ReplyDeletedon't throw out ultramarine blue, it makes amazing colors when mixed with burnt sienna, a very dark blue or a very dark brown or a very dark almost black depending on how much paint and water you use. Have you ever used Royal Blue or Marine Blue by Holbein? They are beautiful blue options.
I love your resolutions. My biggest arty resolution is to paint the subjects that inspire me even if they seem silly, like pajamas.
Never tried Holbein colours, but will check out the colours you suggest. Thanks for your advice. Nice to have met you in 2012 and Good luck in 2013
