Don't ask me how my brain works, I've no idea. How I came up with my next project is quite beyond me. It's like this ............ I decided to paint subjects from A to Z that I saw or heard on tv, but that I spotted in alphabetical order. So, sometimes there was a wait between letters. You will see what I mean in a minute. Then I drew all 26 of them, so good sketching practice, some smaller than others. Now I am in the process of painting them, and yes you guessed, in alphabetical order.
To start with we were watching a Crime and Punishment Programme (American). Trouble is because I was watching and listening carefully, I lost the plot, literally.
|
'A' - The programme started in a bar hence the Ale.
|
|
'B' The suspected killer was - yes clever you - was wearing a belt |
|
'C' - Crime was committed in New York, so obviously there was a street scene with the yellow cabs.
|
Ok, so up come the adverts, mind alert, ah ha ............
|
'D' For Dyson cleaner
|
Whatever will crop up next I wonder.
Excellent idea for a series Polly, keeps you thinking and being creative, shame about losing the plot LOL
ReplyDeleteHubby went to sleep so couldn't tell me the outcome!!
DeleteYou are so inventive Polly!! Makes us all wonder what you will be doing for the rest of the letters... great challenge!!
ReplyDeleteNot me Judith, it's the brain, has a mind of it's own :)
DeleteAn excellent way to keep you on your toes! Great paintings, looking forward to the rest of the alphabet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy. Happy Sunday!
DeleteI love the way how each one of us painters organizing its own desire to paint in a different way ! Challenges of thirty days, household objects, memories of childhood ...
ReplyDeleteDear Polly with this painting from A to Z, you really are amazing and full of humor, as it is in your character! These watercolors are brilliant sequel to the series of your red painting!!!.
Thank you Rita. Perhaps I should concentrate on one thing! I hope you enjoy seeing what the rest of the alphabet brings xx
DeleteGreat way to motivate yourself to keep painting and have fun with it. The paintings are wonderful. Can't wait to see the rest of the alphabet
ReplyDeleteIt appears I can only download 3 at a time on my blog so will keep you guessing for a while.
DeletePolly, this is so droll--I love it. And what a challenge, literally! I'm impressed how you use each object to explore different ways of painting--soft edges, wet-in-wet, dry brush, etc. Each thing requires and gets its own approach: a great lesson!
ReplyDeleteYou are very observant, I am trying the odd new colour and combinations.

Delete...such a great idea, always good to have plenty of ideas for painting, however bizarre they seem, I love the way one idea leads to a couple more, then twenty more, and before ya know it there's enuf ideas to keep ya going for a lifetime, or even two. Love looking in at your work, kudos :-)
ReplyDeleteKat, thanks for your visit and your comments. I so like to try different things, and this way thinking what to paint was done for me!!

Don't know what drove me, it just popped into my head. Hope it has cooled down for you. :)
