Can you believe it, I have painted another flower. I wonder am I sickening for something, this isn't like me at all! I may have caught floweritis from all you flower bloggers!
For my next post I will be introducing you to Annie Arkwright. Who is a friend of mine. You may want to catch up with her story on my other blog Pollyluvspainting and the label is 'friends of mine' before she appears here. Those of you who have visited this blog will know that I have several unusual friends from the Lancashire area! I have combined my 2 blogs now, so I welcome my followers of the other blog here to this one.
Dear Polly - I am so glad you have caught floweritis - this disease certainly suits you by the look of this painting. Love it. Can't wait to meet your friend. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteThe shock is I have bought a book on flower painting! Now that is bad. Thanks for calling by.
DeleteGood you gave the flowerpainting another try, because this painting is gorgeous! White flowers are so lovely. Looking forward to meet your friend! Take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I must think of another flower to try. I will tell Annie you are looking forward to meeting her!
DeleteYou should consider yourself a flower painter Polly because this is superb. Understated and brilliant in fact - love it (ps Can you tell I like it??)
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks Lorraine. I am only just realising that perhaps I can paint simple flowers. But your comments have definitely given me a boost. Glad you like it.
DeleteBeautiful painting - you can definitely paint flowers!
ReplyDeleteDon't hold your breath. The next one may go very awry! But thank you.
DeleteThis is really good Polly, I agree with Lorraine!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you Cathy. Mustn't let your comments go to my head!
Deletepourquoi ne pas peindre de fleurs, celles ci sont très reussies
ReplyDeleteMerci, Isabelle. Je n'aime pas peindre les fleurs. Elles sont trop difficile pour moi. C'est une bataille pas un plaisir!
DeleteI am glad you caught floweritis...your lily of the valley is absolutely beautiful , the flower is awfully well done like this in perspective and the colors are wonderful ! Bravo !!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane. It's nice to get encouragement for something you don't really enjoy painting.
DeleteI can understand(maybe) that you want to paint flowers .... Like me, I'm not accurate, I want to face the reality and accuracy of realism in this period.
ReplyDeleteThese are ways to complete a search, to understand, after learning how to do one thing, if this thing was interesting (or not) for us ... maybe it's the same for you? I find very beautiful fresh and dynamic ,your lily of the valley!
Thanks for your comments Rita. At this time in my art life, and would like to be able to paint anything but not worry about the accuracy too much. But I feel that I need to practice something first before I can paint it more freely. I'm glad you like my lily of the valley. Have a lovely weekend. (I have Janet Whittle's book to inspire me).
DeleteGorgeous--the colors, the composition, the whites, the lost and found edges. You are there!
ReplyDeleteWell thank you Laura. Such encouragement. Perhaps I will like painting flowers one day!
